Assignment #7: Rule of Thirds & Leading Lines

3. Upload all images to your H: drive.
4. Blogging.
5. Overall Marks:
- Shoot one photograph using the Rule of Thirds
- Imaginary lines are drawn dividing the image into thirds both horizontally and vertically.
- You place important elements of your composition where these lines intersect.
- Shoot three photographs using the Leading Lines
- Lines can help to move the viewer’s eye around the frame and into the frame.
- This one will be trickier. It takes time to develop an “eye.”
3. Upload all images to your H: drive.
- Create a new folder titled “MonthDay_RuleOfThirds_Lines”
- Create 2 folders within this one: “Originals” and “Edited”
- Upload your new photos the “Originals” folder within a new folder
4. Blogging.
- Post one photograph for each of the compositional rules (2 photos in total).
- Write a brief 100 word summary describing what you noticed. You may wish to describe the use of Rule of Thirds, to describe your choice of subjects/scenes. This should be posted to your blog along with a photograph(s) you took.
- No editing required on your photos.
5. Overall Marks:
- Rule of Thirds & Leading Lines: 10 marks (5 marks per photograph)
Each of the two photographs will be assessed for: Focus & Clarity and Visual Interest & Composition - Blogging: 5 marks
